New software-based technology enhancements - Dynamic concentration analysis and more

Spectradyne is proud to announce the deployment of Dynamic Concentration Analysis, an improved method for calculating nanoparticle concentration by microfluidic resistive pulse sensing (MRPS). Briefly, the new method delivers more accurate measurements of the sample volume in which particles are detected, particularly in non-standard use cases. Read the full details in this technical brief.
The latest version of Spectradyne tools, version 2.5.0.319, includes the new Dynamic Concentration Analysis feature, as well as other significant improvements for usability based on input from users:

  • Faster priming routines for both cartridge and instrument
  • Live parametric plots of transit time vs. diameter viewable during data acquisition

  • Dana Al Sulaiman, Nidhi Juthani, and Patrick S. Doyle from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology used Spectradyne's nCS1 to quantify extracellular vesicles (EVs) in their recent paper, "Quantitative and Multiplex Detection of Extracellular Vesicle-Derived MicroRNA via Rolling Circle Amplification within Encoded Hydrogel Microparticles," in the journal Advanced Healthare Materials. The authors include a detailed comparison of Spectradyne's microfluidic resistive pulse sensing (MRPS) and nanoparticle tracking analysis, concluding for reasons we've discussed at length on our blog that MRPS is the more accurate measure of EV size and concentration of the two. Read the full open-access article here.
  • In their recent paper in the journal Materials, Mohammed A. Al-Khafaji et al., from the Research Center for natural Sciences in Hungary, optimized a chemical method for fluorescently labeling hollow organosilica nanoparticles. The authors used Spectradyne's MRPS technology to measure the size and concentration of the labeled particles, and in turn quantify the extent to which fluorochromes were loaded on the particles.
